The Columbia Choral Society has planned five programs for the 2005-2006 concert season. Dr. Carswell sends the following message concerning the first concert:

Friends,

Welcome to the 75th anniversary season of the Columbia Choral Society. It is truly a "Season to Celebrate!" If you are a long-time supporter of our ensemble or a potential new member of our audience or choir, let me extend a warm welcome on behalf of the Choral Society. We depend on you for our continued growth and success.

I hope that you will join us at our first concert of the season on Sunday, October 16 at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary of Eastminister Presbyterian Church on Trenholm Road. The music for this opening concert will include, I am sure, many of your favorite choruses from well-known masterworks. Some examples to whet your musical appetite are The Heavens Are Telling from The Creation by Haydn, He Watching Over Israel from Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah, the Kyrie and Gloria movements of Schubert's Mass in G, and How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place from A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms. This will be a wonderful concert that you will not want to miss. Please call (803)206-3833 or (803)782-4520 for tickets or more information.
