Peace in the Community

The Choral Society will perform Robert Ray's exciting work Gospel Mass with the Dick Goodwin Quintet and soloists. Also performing at our 77th season opening concert will be the Korean Presbyterian Church Choir and the Richland Northeast GAP Choir.

A Devine Evening

A Devine Evening will again be an opportunity to expose a wider audience to the beautiful sounds of the Choral Society. This is the official kick-off to the holiday season along the Devine Street corridor of Columbia.

 
Peace in the Home
Time: Sunday, December 16 at 4:00 PM
Place: Kathwood Baptist Church on Trenholm Road

This celebration of the family will feature a relatively new work by New York composer Elliott Levine - Cantata of the Animals. We are hoping to involve the Children's Theater of Columbia in this performance. Of course there will be plenty of holiday favorites for the entire family!

Don't miss the annual Messiah Sing-Along with other choirs from throughout Columbia along with members of the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra.

   
Peace in the Nation
Time: Friday, February 22 at 7:30 PM
Place: St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1416 Broad River Road
Time: Sunday, February 24 at 3:00 PM
Place: Shandon Presbyterian Church

The featured work for this concert will be Randall Thompson's Testament of Freedom along with other works by fellow American composers Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber and Leonard Bernstein.

Time: Sunday, May 18 at 4:00 PM
Place: Shandon United Methodist Church

We will conclude our 77th season with two contrasting works, Mass In Time of War (Paukenmesse) by Franz Joseph Haydn and Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The members of the Choral Society will be joined by soloists and orchestra.
