Dear Friends of Choral Music,

Thank you to all those who attended the opening concert of our 75th anniversary season on October 16, 2005 at Eastminister Presbyterian Church.  The performance of choral masterworks was a joy to sing and was warmly received by all in attendance.  Thank you for your presence at our concerts and for your financial support.  You continue to make it possible for the Columbia Choral Society to present the finest in choral music to audiences in the Midlands of South Carolina.

I hope you will reserve Sunday afternoon, December 11 in your busy holiday calendar.  Our second concert of the season will be held at 3:00 pm on December 11 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Devine Street.  The main work on the program will be the Christmas Oratorio by French composer Camille Saint-Saens.  The choir will accompanied by harpist Kathleen Wilson of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and our own Heather Janney at the organ.  In addition to this lovely work, we will be performing the Ave Maria by Sergei Rachmaninoff (sung in Russian), John Rutter's What Sweeter Music, A Spotless Rose composed by Herbert Howells, Wonderful Peace by Gustaf Nordqvist (sung in Swedish) and a spiritual Glory, Glory, Glory to the Newborn King arranged by Moses Hogan among others. (See full program.)

Please plan to join us on Sunday, December 11 at 3:00 pm as, together, we celebrate the season!  Email us or call (803)206-3833 or (803)782-4520 for tickets or additional information.
